Artist

Also known as ‘Walking Pop Art’, Nancy Lang is the most trending artist in South Korea. She became first known to public in Venice Biennale 2003 and in Time Square New York where she gave a performance, ‘Uninvited Dreams and Conflict- Taboo Yogini’. She has since been a prolific artist with many art projects in Korea and abroad. Her work in various art collaborations with different companies and TV broadcasting programs speaks for her versatility across diverse fields and has been instrumental in allowing more public to familiarize themselves with contemporary art, which makes her top pop artist when it comes to recognition and popularity who can bring up conversations and discussions

Nancy Lang was invited to participate in ‘Ingres in Modern’ at the Ingres Museum in 2009 organized by Dimitri Salmon, director at the Louvre Museum, as the youngest artist to show alongside great masters and renowned painters like Bacon, Ingres, and Picasso. She has also collaborated with international rock music group Linkin Park in 2003 with Warner Music, and fashion conglomerate Louis Vuitton in 2005 to produce canvas paintings and video art works. She has also been active as exclusive advertisement model for big companies like LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, KT Megapass, and Ssangbangwool Inc.

Graduated from top art school in Korea, Hongik University, with a bachelor’s degree in painting, Nancy Lang had her first solo show in 2001 when she was enrolled in a master’s course. Her passion for art continued onto various art exhibitions and projects. Participating in multiple planned exhibitions, art fairs abroad, museum exhibitions and group shows, she had 23 solo exhibitions. As a versatile artist recognized in both the art and the entertainment world, she is active across various media fields, and she is often referred to as ‘search word number 1’.

낸시랭은 루브르미술관의 디렉터 드미트리 살몬(Dimitri Salmon)이 기획한 프 랑스 앵그르 미술관 ‘앵그르 인 모던(Ingres in Modern)’전시 (2009)에 대한민국 작가로서 최연소 작가로 초대되어 피카소, 베이컨, 앵그르 등의 세계적인 아티스 트 작품들과 함께 나란히 작품전시를 했으며, 세계적인 패션그룹 루이비통(Louis Viutton)과 함께 비디오 작품(2005)과 미국의 유명 락그룹 린킨파크(Linkin Park) 워너뮤직(Wanner Music)과의 캔버스 페인팅 작품(2003)으로 아트 콜라보 레이션 작업을 진행하여 선보였다. 이 외에도 팝아티스트로서 국내에서는 (주)LG전자, (주)삼성, (주)KT 메가패스, (주)쌍방울 등의 기업의 전속 광고 모델로서도 활발한 활동을 선보였다.
